In September 2021 Cooper was given the opportunity to compete in the national junior development Formula 500 class where to date he has just completed his second entire season where he finished second in the in the NSW State. He is demonstrating continual improvement under the guidance of the national instructors. With the new season resuming in September 2024, we have a rather busy upcoming schedule that includes thirty (30) events over three (3) states. This involves a lot of capital investment and ongoing costs, however, with the passion, skill and dedication he has shown to date and the experience he has obtained, we feel that this is a terrific opportunity and we are now preparing a new car for the upcoming season.

Formula 500’s

The Formula 500 division of speedway racing is a progressive and innovative national club with increasing numbers and a fierce racing competition. Promoters and sponsors nationally have witnessed the growth of the division and the increasing support of crowds and competitors that they attract to each race meeting, so much so that they can be seen most weekends competing at race tracks around Australia.

Formula 500 Australia have taken the initiative to set a path for junior drivers to progress into the sport by offering a restricted engine capacity motor that will cater for future racers aged 12 to16 years to experience and learn the art of open wheel racing in a controlled environment. The junior division to date has been very successful and now boasts drivers from most capital cities in Australia, each state having dedicated trainers, administration and support staff to assist with the development of these future racers of tomorrow, sanctioned by Speedway Australia.
